JANUARY 2012

STAGE BUSINESS        from Lauren Sutton

Happy New Year!  2012 brings changes to our Panhandle Community Theatre Executive Board:  Lauren Sutton - President; Candace Culberson – Vice President; Nancy Sabol – Secretary; Dave Cook – Treasurer; Dean Emerson - Technical Manager.  A multitude of thanks goes to Past President, Rick Ready for all of his dedication and service to PCT as he stands ready to assist us with whatever we need.  You are most appreciated Rick!  We also extend a HUGE thank you to Jane Shell who has served as Treasurer for the past 5 or so years.  Jane stepped up when our former treasure resigned due to health issues and has gotten all of our bills paid on time and the finances organized and computerized, making audits and grant applications much easier!  THANK YOU JANE!

Memberships and Sponsorships for 2012 are available!  We encourage you to become a member of PCT.  Supporting memberships are just $25 each.  With a supporting membership you are entitled to voting rights and are eligible to serve on the executive board.  Sponsorships start at just $100 each.  Sponsors are listed on our Wall of Honor at the theatre and on the PCT website.  As some of you know, PCT operates on a budget from show to show.  One of our goals this year is to generate enough revenue from memberships and sponsorships, so that our business expenses (rent; cell phone; credit card processor; insurance; storage fees; office supplies; etc.) are covered for the year and house receipts can be dedicated to covering production costs (royalties; scripts; set construction cost; costumes, publicity; playbills, etc.)  We need your help in getting word out to your friends, neighbors and business contacts in order to reach this goal.  AND, we are brainstorming some additional benefits for those who support PCT with their dollars.   A few ideas in the works are – Ticket packages; advance reservation period for members; VIP opening night reception and corporate sponsors for individual shows!  More to come about this next month!  For now – SEND YOUR CHECK FOR MEMBERSHIP ($25) or SPONSORSHIP ($100 or more)  payable to “PCT” at PO Box 278, Milton, FL 32570.  We need your support!

STEEL MAGNOLIAS  is in rehearsal!  Director Candy Culberson has been busy preparing her talented cast for their opening performance of this award winning show written by Robert Harling.    Visit the PCT website to see the Cast List for this delightful show.  All seats are $12 each.  Make your reservation NOW!  2nd weekend shows have been selling out!  Performance dates are February 9, 10, 11, 12 and 16, 17, 18, 19.

Imogene update-  We have opened the door to discussions with the Santa Rosa Historical Society about a mutually beneficial arrangement to bring shows back to the Imogene Stage.  Our proposal includes a locally written Vaudeville Review, a children’s production and/or workshop, and at least 1 regular stage production.  Hopefully, their board will contact us soon with a response!

GET INVOLVED!  I’ve said it before and I’ll keep on saying it for the next 24 months – GET INVOLVED!  There are so many areas at the theatre where help is needed.  Contact us to find out where you can help!  HAPPY NEW YEAR! Make it count!
